Community Jobs supports Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) parents who want to work but lack skills, work history, and have other employment barriers like substance abuse, domestic violence, long-term sanction, mental health needs, homelessness, or the lack of a high school diploma or GED.

About Community Jobs

  • It is for TANF parents who need a supported environment to help develop work skills and find a job and provides up to six months of paid job training at a work site in your community.
  • Job Training at non-profit and government agencies provides you with the work experience, employment skills, and the confidence you need to start job search.
  • Job Search activities allow you to begin searching for employment before your Community Jobs support ends.
  • Local community providers help you access basic education and vocational training, introduce you to local training sites, and help you with job search.
