Community Jobs

Community Jobs is a service that helps WorkFirst participants gain paid work experience and overcome issues that can interfere with keeping a job. The amount of one on one attention and assistance our customers receive makes Career Path Services different from the rest.

How it works

After you've been referred to us by your CSO case manager and complete orientation, you'll be matched with an employment associate. Together, we'll look at your goals and barriers and create an action plan.

Our employment associates have developed a huge network of host sites to provide you with the chance to gain marketable skills, while getting paid and increasing your family's income. You may spend several months working at your host site - or just a few weeks, depending on how quickly you and your employment associate find a permanent job for you. In addition, we may also be able to provide:

Community Jobs will break the vicious cycle of being turned down for jobs because you don't have experience and not having experience because you keep getting turned down!

One customer's story

"Heidi" was referred to Career Path Services for Community Jobs so she could complete her GED and gain work experience in order to pursue a career as a dietary aide. Her employment associate helped Heidi overcome her barriers to employment, which included housing, family issues, problem solving, transportation and workplace behavior, before helping Heidi interview for a Community Job at Riverview Retirement Center. Due to her exceptional performance during her Community Job, Riverview hired Heidi for a permanent position. She also completed her GED that same month!
