Ticket to Work

Ticket to Work is a voluntary program designed to help people receiving Social Security benefits (SSI and SSDI) return to work and earn enough income to not need Social Security benefits. For most people, this means full time employment.
Washington State began issuing Tickets to Social Security recipients of working age in November 2002, and mails out batches of Tickets each month. When you receive a Ticket, it's up to you to decide if you'd like to go back to work and to select an Employment Network to assist you. Career Path Services became an Employment Network in July 2003. If you want to return to work we can help you:
- Set goals
- Identify occupations of interest and plan your career
- Develop a resume
- Learn the best ways to search for jobs
- Meet Ticket to Work and Social Security Administration (SSA) income reporting requirements
Eligibility and appropriateness
Anyone who receives a Ticket to Work is eligible. The program is designed for people who want to work full time. If you're not interested in working, Ticket to Work is probably not a good fit for you.
