Live Resumes
No matter how nice your resume is, it is still just a piece of paper that can’t completely represent you and your personality. However, opportunities to meet directly with potential employers are rare. That’s why Career Path Services is so pleased to host the Diversity Recruitment Committee’s Live Resumes – a chance for job seekers to network in person with area businesses!
How it works
Please note: Live Resumes has been suspended for the remainder of 2006. Check back for more information this winter.
Live Resumes is held on the third Wednesday of every month at 9:30 a.m. All job seekers are welcome to attend! It’s a great chance to find out what’s happening in the local job market and to sell yourself and your abilities.
- Plan on arriving 10-15 minutes early
- Dress as you would for a job interview
- Bring copies of your resume to hand out
- Be ready to introduce yourself and share your work experience and career goals
Suggestions for conducting a live resume
- Begin by introducing yourself
- Give a brief description of what you're looking for (clerical job, an engineering job, an accounting position, etc.)
- Give a brief description of your past working experience (10 years in accounts payable, etc.)
- Your career goals (long term and short term)
- Offer copies of your resume for more information
After the introductions are complete, you will have an opportunity to network one on one with local employers.
Live Resumes is sponsored by the Spokane Diversity Recruitment Committee (DRC), a group of businesses and community organizations interested in creating a diverse workforce. To find out more about the DRC, please contact Deanna Ashby or Heather Kvokov.
