Overview

The King County CareerWork$ Medical program provided by Career Path Services is a free, 8-week training program designed to help you begin your career in non-clinical roles in the healthcare industry. We support participants in receiving general career training, specific healthcare background education, job placement assistance, and ongoing coaching for career advancement in the healthcare industry. At course completion, you will directly interview with our employer partners listed below, and you will be qualified to apply for a wide variety of regional non-clinical roles in healthcare.

Minimum eligibility requirements for the program include:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • 18 years or older
  • Basic computer skills
  • Standard background clearance
  • English proficiency - bilingual individuals are encouraged to apply

Learning Objectives and Curriculum

Participants benefit from learning role-specific skills and discipline for a lasting career. Program instructors, healthcare recruiters, and industry executives collaborate to deliver a unique training experience that covers skills and knowledge essential for success in healthcare roles outside of clinical care. Class breakout sessions and feedback offer a real-time, personal learning environment and mentorship, and the hybrid model sets you up for success in navigating future virtual meetings and other career opportunities.

The Success of the CareerWorks$ Medical Program

Our re-launch of the CareerWork$ Medical Job Training Program began in April 2022 and we recently celebrated our 8th graduation in March 2024. Our graduates reflect a diverse group of experiences, backgrounds, and goals.
