On May 20th, 2017, the South King County Commerce Team participated in MADD Day. This year was especially humbling and meaningful as we participated in the “Break the Chains of Human Trafficking” 5K in support of the Federal Way Coalition Against Trafficking.
We originally came into contact with this organization through our LPA partnership and have attempted to work with them ever since. In the past 12 months, we have worked with a number participants who have been deeply affected and wounded by sex trafficking. The 5K course went directly through the main streets of Federal Way, and our team stood among others in the community to show support for this amazing organization that is saving and changing lives.
Career Path Services is very proud of the South King County team for a number of reasons: that they came out on a Saturday; that they owned this decision to support this organization with volunteering and the 5K; and we started and finished the 5k together. No one was left behind, and no one went too far ahead.
This was a strikingly powerful event for our team, made possible by the support of Career Path Services. Thank you for helping us support the fight against human trafficking in South King County!
