Meet Angel Betancourt, representing Southeastern Washington

Posted on by Reina

Introducing Board Member Angel David Betancourt. Angel is an attorney in Richland, Washington. He attended Central Washington University and the University of Idaho College of Law. Before law school, he was in the USAF for four years. His military training included U.S. Army Airborne School, where he learned to jump out of planes, and Survival school. He deployed for almost a year to Iraq in 2007. Notable military awards include two Army Commendation medals, one Air Force Commendation Medal, and the Air Force Combat, Action Medal. When that chapter ended, his commitment to service continued. After law school, he volunteered to go to a federal detention center in New Mexico to ensure the women and children refugees’ rights were protected. His colleagues recently voted him to be one of two Trustees for the Benton and Franklin County Bar association. His career and service keep him busy, but he still does his best to make time for his fiancee, his chocolate lab named Henry, and his feisty Chihuahua – Jack Russell mix, rescue dog, named Bruce.
