Mariah Brown is our new full-time practitioner in Republic, Washington. Thank you, Mariah, for sharing these insights into who you are!
I grew up in Oroville, WA and graduated from high school in 2010. A few months later, I moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington. I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health in June 2014. However, the city life proved too much for me, and I moved back home to Oroville, Washington, after graduation. I didn’t have any job prospects lined up in my field, so I spent the summer working as a waitress at a Mexican restaurant. It was like my second home as I’d worked there on and off since high school, and I knew that it would be temporary. I was happy to be back.
Summer quickly turned into fall, and then winter. I was still working as a waitress and ready for a change. I took a chance and move to Malo, Washington, to live with my boyfriend in his new home. Fortunately, the position as a Career Path Services practitioner opened up shortly after my move. It was a perfect fit for my goals and interests: I’ve always had a passion to serve others and I truly appreciate everything that Career Path Services stands for. I’m so excited to join the “family” and I cannot wait to see what’s in store for me in this new adventure!
Outside the office, I consider myself a “junker” and often find myself wrapped up in DIY projects, usually re-purposing vintage finds. I love the outdoors and enjoy spending my summers soaking in the sunshine while kayaking, fishing, and hiking. I also have a passion for baking and being creative in the kitchen.
