Ring The Bell – May 2013

Katie Haney gets the job done and does it well! She is meticulous, detail oriented, and passionate about her customers! She recently took the lead on two very important Benton Franklin functions, the first being our annual youth focused job fair. Katie orchestrated an outstanding event securing 26 employers interested in hiring youth, some of whom conducted on-the-spot interviews.  Over 300 job seekers attended the event, with 85% of those being youth applicants.

The second important role Katie has played recently was taking the lead on securing Letters of Support from community partners, employers and school districts as we prepare to submit a proposal for continued funding through the Benton Franklin Workforce Development Council for WIA and GRS services.

Why are these actions noteworthy? Because she took on two time sensitive priorities, while  achieving 100% of both her ISY and OSY goals for the second year in a row. Meeting 18/18 youth focused goals in a time when youth unemployment rates have reached goal-setting heights is impressive.  Katie leads her teammates by implementing best practice approaches in all facets of her job including teamwork, dependability, work ethic, and flexibility.  Congratulations Katie!
