The Benton Franklin WIA team served our local homeless shelter for our MADD project. We helped clean their facilities inside and out, helped organize their “free store”, and met with some of their staff to discuss our programs and how we can collaborate as community partners. Some of the case managers here have clients who stay at the Union Gospel Mission so it was truly a meaningful experience. We shared lunch with some of the residents and got to hear very interesting and compelling stories about their lives.
Like all volunteer work, we took away so much from the experience and truly feel we “made a difference”. It was a pleasure to hand deliver our $500 donation. They are building a new facility and the money will be used towards those efforts!
