What’s New in South King County

Happy New Year!

Let us be some of the first people to say “Happy New Year” to our amazing partners in this important work we are doing together.  Over the past year, our partnership has resulted in over 75 participants exiting our program with unsubsidized employment, over 100 completing financial literacy courses, and all participants having an opportunity to change the course of their life through the dignity found in work.

Jobs, Jobs, and More Jobs

Check out some of the amazing  positions  our participants have obtained in the month of December.   All jobs listed this month are full time, unsubsidized positions:

•  2x Receptionist – In Home Health Care – $13.50 p/h
• Medical Assistant – $13.00 p/h
• Admin Assistant (mentioned in story to the left) – $13.34 p/h
• Warehouse Tech – $11.00 p/h
• Customer Service – $11.00 p/h

Job Training Success – Microsoft Office 101

Our first cohort of individuals enrolled in our 4-week Job Training Class, Microsoft Office 101, which concluded on December 23, 2016.  All of the participants who began the class were able to finish it, and each obtained a certificate of completion to include in their portfolio. Each participant was required to have 3 hours of seat time each week and 2 hours of homework, which every participant completed on time and turned in to our job readiness coach.  Overall, the class was a huge success, and we will continue running this class in the future.

Our next session begin January 6^th, from 1:00pm-4:00pm at the Auburn CSO.
