Workforce Development Month: Individual Success

DSCF2597-Edit-25Dan came to our program for assistance in securing full-time employment. During his time in the program, we placed Dan at a temporary work site through a partnership with Habitat for Humanity. He updated his work skills in their warehouse with hands on experience & training. Dan also completed 4 workshops designed to enhance his skills in financial literacy, workplace communication, problem solving, and motivation. He has partnered with our Job Readiness Coaches to update his resume, cover letter, and interview skill. To top off all of that, he earned his OSHA 10 Safety training certification.

Dan recognizes the importance of work and life balance. He attended the Strengthening Family Connections Conference to gain additional tools and resources to manage household stresses.

He spoke clearly about his experience in the program:

“Job training helped me get out of my head and get busy doing other things to help my future. It helped me to get up to date with my resume and learn the job skills companies are recruiting people for in today’s market. It gave me some current job skills and helped me get back in the swing of things.”

Dan used these skills and past work experience to secure a full time production position with Katerra making $15 per hour.
